About Penna
Built by people who have sat on your side of the desk.
Penna Health is a Wisconsin healthcare software company. We build one thing: an EMR an independent practice can run without an implementation team, a sales rep or a multi-year contract, and we sign a HIPAA business associate agreement with every practice we serve.
Why Penna exists
Most EMRs were designed for hospital systems and sold down to independent practices. The result is familiar to anyone who has run one: a chart that takes a dozen clicks to open a note, billing in a separate portal your biller has to log into, pricing that only exists after a sales call, and a contract that outlasts the people who signed it.
We built Penna after running practices on those systems and watching clinicians take the documentation home every night. The product was designed with a working psychiatry practice, which is why its behavioral health model is the deepest thing in it, and why the front desk, the biller and the clinician all work in the same chart.
How we work
Behavioral health first, on purpose
Penna's mental health care model shipped first and is still the deepest. Primary care is a registered model of its own, with its own templates and codes. Physical therapy is in development, and the site says so rather than selling it.
Security is the job, not a feature
Our roots are in building and securing the systems organizations depend on. Penna signs a BAA with every practice, keeps an append-only audit log, enforces roles on the server and publishes how it operates on the security page.
Pricing you can read
Platform plus seats, published, with usage allowances and the rate past them in the open. No quotes, no implementation fee, no term. The price a practice sees on this site is the price it pays.
Honest about what isn't built
Where a feature is still in development, the page says exactly where it stands. We would rather lose a trial than start a relationship with a promise.
What we do not do
The commitments that do not change with the plan or the size of the practice.
- Train AI models on your data, or let a vendor do it.
- Sell, share or mine practice or patient information.
- Take a percentage of what you collect.
- Lock you into a term. Month to month, cancel any time, and your data is returned or destroyed at the end of service, as the BAA requires.
The product, not a slide deck.
Three screens from the working product. Click any of them to see it full size.
Seven days free. Judge the chart, not the pitch.
No setup fee, no contract, and the BAA is signed at signup. Or book a walkthrough and ask us anything first.
